Your Co-op Mobile and Broadband Review 2026: The Ethical Option, Priced Honestly

Two Verticals, One Honest Answer

Your Co-op is now on GadgetRank across both SIM only and broadband, which makes it one of the few providers we list in two verticals. It is also one of the few where the honest recommendation depends heavily on what you value — because on price alone, it is not the cheapest option we compare, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Here is what they offer, what it costs, and who it is genuinely right for.

Who Are Your Co-op?

Your Co-op is the telecoms arm of the Midcounties Co-operative, a member-owned business rather than a shareholder-owned one. That structure is the point: profits go back into the co-operative and its members rather than to external investors.

The mobile service runs as an MVNO on EE's network, which means EE coverage and 4G to over 99% of the UK population. The broadband runs over Openreach.

One thing to be aware of: the service rebranded in July 2026, and you may see it referred to as MobileCoop as well as Your Co-op Mobile. It is the same provider.

All plans are 30-day rolling with unlimited UK minutes and texts, eSIM available, and free EU roaming with a tiered allowance.

The honest assessment: these are not competitive on price. Talkmobile, which also runs on a major network, offers 100GB for £8.95 a month against Co-op's £23. Even allowing for the co-operative model, that is a substantial gap for the same allowance.

What you get for the difference is the ethical structure, carbon neutral certification on all SIM bundles, and a tree planted for every customer every year. If those things matter to you, the premium is the price of them. If they do not, you will get more data for less money elsewhere on our SIM only comparison.

Two practical notes. The 30-day rolling term is genuinely useful — you are never locked in. And Co-op run credit checks even on their monthly plans, which not every provider does.

Five packages, all 24-month contracts, all with no setup fee and — this is the important part — no mid-contract price rises at all.

A quirk worth pointing out: three packages sit at the same £35. Essential Starter and Remote Professional are both 66.5 Mbps, with Digital Voice being the difference, and Family Streamer is 80 Mbps for the same money. If you are choosing between those three, Family Streamer is strictly the better deal on speed.

The No-Price-Rises Point Is Worth More Than It Looks

Most UK broadband providers raise prices every March or April, during your contract. Since January 2025, Ofcom requires them to state the rise in pounds and pence at the point of sale rather than as an inflation-linked percentage — an improvement, but the rises still happen.

Co-op do not raise prices mid-contract. What you sign for is what you pay in month 24.

That certainty has real value, and it is the main argument for choosing them over a cheaper headline rate. But be clear-eyed about the size of it. On our broadband comparison, Carnival Internet's 1000 Mbps package totals £957 over 24 months including their April rises, against Co-op's £1,320 for a slower 900 Mbps. The fixed price is genuinely worth something — just not £363.

Who Your Co-op Suits

A good fit if: you want a member-owned provider rather than a shareholder-owned one, you value knowing your price will not change, you want carbon neutral service without paying a large premium over other ethical options, or you want a 30-day rolling SIM with no commitment.

Look elsewhere if: price is your main criterion. On both mobile and broadband there are cheaper options for the same or better specification, and we would not serve you well by hiding that.

Your Co-op vs the Other Ethical Providers

Co-op are not the only provider with an ethical angle, and the comparison is closer than you might expect.

Between them, the ethical angle is no longer a premium proposition — several of these providers are competitive on price as well. Co-op's distinguishing feature is the member-owned structure and the fixed broadband pricing rather than the environmental commitment alone.

Verdict

Your Co-op is a straightforward, honestly run provider with two genuine selling points: member ownership and broadband pricing that does not change mid-contract.

It is not the cheapest option in either vertical, and on SIM only specifically the gap is wide — £23 for 100GB against £8.95 elsewhere is not a small premium. We list them because a comparison site that only shows the cheapest option is not much of a comparison, and because for a certain kind of customer the structure and the price certainty are worth paying for.
