How much is a Google Pixel 8 Pro worth in 2026?

The Google Pixel 8 Pro launched in October 2023 at £999. By July 2026 — three years into its lifecycle — recycler prices have settled in a range that makes it well worth selling sooner rather than later.

A working Pixel 8 Pro (128GB, good condition) currently fetches £170–£280 from UK recyclers. The £110 gap between best and worst offer is significant — comparing before selling is essential.

What makes the Pixel 8 Pro worth selling now?

The Pixel 8 Pro has strong buy-side demand — buyers value the 50MP telephoto camera, 50MP ultrawide, Magic Eraser and the guaranteed seven years of Android updates. Recycler demand follows buyer demand.

However, the Pixel 9 range and Pixel 10 range have both launched since the 8 Pro. Prices will continue declining. Google is expected to announce Pixel 11 in October 2026 — at which point Pixel 8 Pro prices will drop a further £20–40.

Selling in July or August 2026 is the best window before the October Pixel announcement.

Condition and its effect on Pixel 8 Pro prices

Excellent: No marks on screen or body, battery health strong, all cameras functioning. Achieves the top of price range.

Good: Light body marks, minor screen scratches, battery health 80%+. The most common grade. Achieves mid-range.

Fair: Visible body damage, screen scratches, battery below 80%. Achieves lower price — £40–80 below good condition.

Cracked screen: Most recyclers accept. Typically £50–70 below good condition for cracked screen with working phone.

Pixel 8 Pro battery — important consideration

The Pixel 6 and 7 series had known battery degradation issues. The Pixel 8 Pro improved significantly but three-year-old devices should be checked. Battery health on Android does not show a percentage like iOS but you can check via Settings → Battery → Battery usage.

If your Pixel 8 Pro is struggling to last a full day, flag this in your condition description. Recyclers test battery capacity and a below-spec battery will result in a revised offer.

Before you sell your Pixel 8 Pro

Remove your Google account. Settings → Accounts → Google → Remove account. Essential — a Google-locked Pixel cannot be sold and will be returned.

Remove your Samsung or Google Pixel Device Protection. Check Settings → Security for any device protection features that need disabling.

Factory reset. Settings → System → Reset Options → Erase All Data.

Remove SIM and any microSD. Remove the SIM tray before resetting.

Photograph front, back and sides before packaging — evidence of condition in case of any dispute.

Pixel 8 Pro vs Pixel 9 sell prices — which is higher?

For context, the Pixel 9 (standard, 128GB, good condition) currently fetches £220–£310 from UK recyclers — £50–£60 more than the Pixel 8 Pro in the same condition. The Pixel 9 Pro fetches £300–£420. This reflects one generation of difference.

If you have a Pixel 9 or 9 Pro, selling before the October Pixel 11 announcement is even more urgent — your device is more current and the price drop will be proportionally larger.
