Multi SIM deals UK 2026 — running more than one SIM

Running multiple SIMs is straightforward and increasingly common — for work/personal separation, travel, or maximum coverage. Here is how to do it cost-effectively.

Why use multiple SIMs?

Work and personal separation — one number for work, one for personal. Turn the work SIM off at weekends. Dual SIM handles this without two phones.

UK SIM plus travel eSIM — UK number stays active for calls while a travel eSIM provides cheap local data abroad. No roaming charges. The biggest practical use of dual SIM in 2026.

Coverage backup — EE SIM for rural coverage, Three SIM for cheapest city data. Use whichever is stronger in each location.

Business and personal — sole traders keep a dedicated business number separate from personal without a second handset.

Which phones support dual SIM?

iPhone 13 and later — physical SIM plus eSIM simultaneously. UK models retain the physical SIM slot.

Samsung Galaxy S20 and later — physical SIM plus eSIM on most models.

Google Pixel 6 and later — physical SIM plus eSIM.

Check: Settings → Mobile Data — if you see two lines listed, dual SIM is supported.

Best value multi-SIM setups

Work/personal split (£9/month total):

Primary: Mozillion 25GB at £8/month on EE — main number and data.

Secondary: 1pMobile at £1/month on EE — work number, used occasionally.

UK plus travel (£8/month + trip cost):

Primary: Ecotalk or Mozillion with EU roaming — covers Europe.

Travel eSIM: BambooSIM or WorldSIM for non-EU destinations, activated per trip.

Maximum UK coverage (~£20/month):

Primary: Mozillion on EE (best rural coverage).

Secondary: Chattr on Three (cheapest unlimited for city use).

No bundle deals — that is fine

Budget MVNOs price each SIM individually. No multi-SIM discounts, no penalties. Buy each separately. The individual prices are already so low that bundling is unnecessary. According to Ofcom's Connected Nations report, EE and O2 have the best combined rural and urban coverage — using one of each gives near-universal UK reach.

Setting up dual SIM on your phone

Once you have two SIMs — whether two physical SIMs, one physical and one eSIM, or two eSIMs — you configure them in your phone settings.

On iPhone: Settings → Mobile Data → you will see both lines listed. Set your primary line for calls and data. Set the secondary for specific purposes (work calls, travel data). You can choose which line to use for each call when it connects. Set one as the default for iMessage and FaceTime.

On Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → configure which SIM handles calls, texts and data by default. You can override per-call.

The setup takes about 5 minutes and gives you complete control over which number and which network is used for each purpose.

Why compare on GadgetRank?

GadgetRank is an independent UK comparison site — not affiliated with any retailer, recycler or network. Every comparison is based on live price data. There are no paid placements or sponsored rankings. The best current offer appears at the top because it is the best current offer, not because of any commercial arrangement.

All retailers listed on GadgetRank meet minimum quality criteria: Trustpilot score of 4.0 or above, minimum 12-month warranty, battery health guarantee, and devices unlocked to all networks. This baseline means every option on GadgetRank is a trustworthy choice — the comparison is purely about price and any additional perks.

GadgetRank updates all comparison prices daily from live merchant data feeds. The price you see is the price the retailer is paying or charging today — not a cached or estimated figure. Check back regularly as recycler prices and refurbished phone prices move frequently, particularly in the days surrounding major product announcements from Apple and Samsung.
